We've been so busy over the past few months and realised that our blog has now become rather.. static. And well, there's no fun in that is there?!

We now aim to keep you updated more frequently and in short bursts (we heard you like it that way!) so we'll be moving our blogging over to microblogging site Twitter.com. This change is reflective to how we work here at Econeve - we love informative simplicity.

It’s a brand new year and we’ve all set our new year’s resolutions in which we’re absolutely determined to keep. Despite many previous years of defunct resolutions getting flushed down the drain because of the new year spirit being superseded by, well, other responsibilities, this year is different right? And so it should be!

One of the many resolutions that seems to have been common over the past few weeks has been to ’start a business’. More specifically, to start an online business.

The internet is now one of the best resources to reach wide scale consumers without as much effort as offline-only businesses. Monthly magazines delivered by post is now weekly newsletters delivered via email. Information is only a click away rather than a bus journey across town and it’s possible to run a successful online business from the comfort of your own home.

An online focused business is definately a good idea as, depending on your area of business, it could cost you a lot less compared to that of an offline business. i.e. an online-only fashion retailer such as asos.com will not have the worry of renting retail premises for their offline store. Although it’s possible to find retail space for relatively cheap, to be a big brand in the offline retail industry, it’s all about location and franchises. For example, a fashion store right bang in the centre of London has more of a consumer base (and generally those willing to part with a lot more cash) than a local high street, so you know renting in a premium location will be rather costly!
